New Life

Your New Life:

Now that you have turned away from sin and ask Jesus to come into your heart, you have entered into a New Life. That New Life began on the inside of you as Jesus came by His Spirit and changed your heart and has given you a new heart.

It's not a physical new heart but a spiritual new heart. You were before, dead in trespasses and sin, but now you are forgiven and have been made alive by the power of God. This what the Bible says about it, “And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked...” (Ephesians 2:1) What does it mean to be made alive? Alive to God and to the things of God.

The Bible will Now come alive to you. You will now desire the truth of His Word in your life.

All of this may sound a little strange but you are in the process of learning how the things of God operate. It is an Adventure!! It's an adventure in faith. When you asked Jesus to forgive you and come into you life, you may or may not have felt something. Don't be concerned if you didn't feel anything. You made a decision by faith and not by feelings. God has taken you at your word and you have taken Him by His Word. You have received Jesus into your life and this is what His Word says. “But as many as received Him,(Jesus) to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name”. (John1:12)

Your New Life is a Relationship:

You have entered into a relationship with Jesus. To grow in that relationship you will want to read HIS Word- the Bible. Where to start? Start reading in the book of Matthew. You might ask, why not start reading at the first book – Genesis? Because you will want to know more about Jesus first, and that begins in Matthew. You can go back later and read Genesis, but for now it's important you know as much about Jesus as possible.

Also, you will want to talk with Jesus everyday. Tell Him you love Him and you

want to know Him better. We call this prayer and there are no special words, just words from your heart to His.
